These premade cables are outstandingly suitable for transmitting the 110 Ω AES/ EBU 2 DMX-512 data format. Note: Due to loss of data and information (caused by reflections at the cable end which may be due to a faulty line balancing), the use of a standard microphone cable is not advisable. In the lighting sector a loss of data causes a total holdup of signal transmissions, e.g. in a moving lights control system. The AES/EBU cable BINARY 234 AES/EBU MKII with 100 % shielding made of CU spiral and aluminum-coated fleece and a capacitance of 63pF/m (core/core) guarantees error-free data transfer even over longer distances of up to 100 meters.
